About Me:

What is an ex-flower-child of the sixties doing in suburbia, with a husband, two kids, two cats, a mortgage and an SUV? How establishment can I get!! Yet I love it - marriage suits me and has for 33 years. And I really like my kids - if I didn't love them, I would still want to hang out with them (if I wasn't too old...) Maybe it's my age, but I think at some point you stop searching for the elusive "perfect life" and be at peace with the choices. And once you achieve peace, you are able to recognize happiness easier, when it occurs. I'm guess I'm not so far from the hippie I used to be when "peace" is what is satisfying.

Interests:

I love ice hockey - amateur, professional - you name it. I also love music - all forms, all eras - there has to be music, if not in focus then in the background - otherwise I can't function. I crave the beach - close enough to smell, hear and see the ocean - just not in the water. I have a fear of drowning.... ironic, isn't it, that I need my beach fix as often as possible, yet it is the source of my greatest fear. I love my job - trite, but true.

Favorite Music:

I love too many artists to name. Every decade has stellar music and I appreciate it all. I play the piano, the guitar and I also sing..... just never for an audience. They may not share my opinion of how wonderful my voice sounds.

Favorite Movies:

My favorite movie is "To Kill a Mockingbird". Timeless, thought-provoking, sweet and cringe-producing messages, not to mention the extradinary Gregory Peck and his portrayal of Atticus Finch. And I'm such a girl - I love romatic comedies - "When Harry Met Sally", "Something's Gotta Give" - the cheesy happy ending. Gross, I know.

Favorite TV Shows:

My favorites have always been the hero-oriented programs with the strong male leads that are real easy to look at, such as "The Rockford Files", "Magnum P.I.", "Jag", "24" and I also love "The Learning Channel" and "Discovery", especially regarding historical subjects and biographies.

Favorite Books:

I have read and re-read "The Chronicles of Narnia", "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, all of the Harry Potter books, Robert Ludlum novels and .... don't throw things at me.... I love Kathleen Woodwiss historical romance novels. There, I admit it - romance novels. shut up
